Is it summer yet?!!!

It has been a long time since I updated this thing and since I know of one very important person who reads this thing...here goes.

Where do I start...

New Year's in New Orleans...

What a great time hanging out with Chelsi, Dave Bruce, Shaw and Erica and Chelsi's parents. It had been years since I had been in New Orleans and not since Hurrican Katrina. What an eye-opening experience. We went to the Aquarium of the Americas....awesome!! We strolled down Bourbon Street...craziness!! Did I mention that this was also the time that New Orleans was hosting the Sugar Bowl....Georgia v/s Hawaii. So many people and crazy drunk people at that!

The junior high school softball team that I am coaching is probably gonna be the death of me. The lack of desire, of determination to win is really depressing. I feel as if I want this more than they do. With that said, I have suffered the only injury of the team as of now. After a couple of doctors' appointments, they have finally decided that nothing in my knee is torn, (thank you Lord) I only have a dislocated knee cap and fluid on the knee which can be treated with medicine and not the surgery they were first talking about. I told them that I didn't have time for surgery I had a camp to work this summer and I would not let anything happen to stand in the way.

School is on the downhill slide. We are in the big push to make sure that all the kids are ready for the LEAP and iLEAP tests that will take place in March. Even though I don't teach a core curriculum class, the pressure is still there. It will soon be time to start counting down the days until school is out.

On the family front...
Rodeo season has kicked off for the nieces, Sabrina (8) and Sara (2). This will be the first season riding for Sara, (she will be lead in by her dad), and she cannot wait. The kids are getting so grown and livinig away from them is hard in that I don't always get to go to the important events in their lives. I was able to see Sabrina receive her second saddle for winning her age division in the rodeo events for last season.

FUGE...
Wow less than 100 days until camp '08. I finally found out the tracks I will be teaching...lawn games and crafts. This could be a very interesting summer. West Palm Beach here I come!!!

Fuge friends...
It is less than a month until Chelsi's wedding and the meeting of FUGE friends here at my house. As of now, Gina, Lauren, Megan, Alan, and Sarah are coming. Yeah friends!! I cannot wait until you get here. Plan on eating good home-cooked Lousiana B-B-Q.
